Luca Arnaboldi

Luca Arnaboldi, the Managing Partner of Carnelutti Studio Legale Associato, has been with the firm since the beginning of his career. His practice focuses on complex M&A and finance transactions, including within the real estate and media sectors.
Luca is a reserve officer with Italy’s Guardia di Finanza and also a registered Chartered Accountant. He has held and still holds directorships or supervisory board positions with several, public and private, Italian and international companies.

Stefano Azzali

Stefano Azzali is Secretary General of the Milan Chamber of Arbitration and President of the International Federation of Commercial Arbitration Institutions (IFCAI). He also acts as Director of the Institute for the Promotion of Arbitration and Conciliation in the Mediterranean (ISPRAMED).

He is a visiting professor in Arbitration Law at Bocconi University – School of Law in Milan and Fellow at the Centre for Transnational Litigation and Commercial Law, New York University, School of Law. 

From 2001 to 2007 he chaired the Disciplinary Commission of the Italian Football Federation (FIGC). He is currently member of its Federal Court of Justice of the same Federation. He is also member of the Formula One International Contract Recognition Board.

Campioni’s global path included Amsterdam, Frankfurt, Singapore, and London, in addition to Milan, Turin, Rome, Florence and Genoa in Italy.

Throughout his career, Campioni has been a member of several banking institutions. Just before leaving to Egypt, he was the deputy chairman of the Italian Banking Association’s Regional Committee (Liguria ABI), and board member of Rete Fidi Liguria, a regional institution which provides guarantees on bank credit facilities granted to small and medium-sized Italian enterprises.

Stefano Simontacchi

Stefano Simontacchi has been Co-Managing Partner of BonelliErede since May 2013 and has recently been nominated Advisor to the Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Ministry for Africa and the Mediterranean Region.

In 2015, Mr Simontacchi has been elected representative as the International Tax Center Leiden at the EU Joint Transfer Pricing Forum. Besides being the author of a number of publications and articles, in 2011 Stefano Simontacchi was appointed Director of the Transfer Pricing Research Center Leiden, founded by Leiden University (the first international research centre specifically focused on Transfer Pricing).

From 2006, Mr Simontacchi has been head of CERTI’s Finance and Real Estate Tax Observatory at Bocconi University. Since 2000, he has lectured on the International Taxation LL.M. course at the University of Leiden in the Netherlands.

In 2000, he obtained a Master of Laws (LL.M.) with honours in International Taxation from the University of Leiden, where in 2007 he also obtained a Ph.D. in International Taxation. Mr Simontacchi qualified as a chartered accountant in 1998. In 1995, Mr Simontacchi graduated with honours in Economics from Bocconi University.

Francesco Gianni

Francesco Gianni is the head of the Corporate/M&A department and one of the founding partners of Gianni, Origoni, Grippo, Cappelli & Partners.

Corrado Passera

Corrado Passera graduated in 1977 in Business Administration at the Bocconi University in Milan. He then studied at the Wharton School (University of Pennsylvania) between 1978 and 1980 and was awarded a Master’s Degree in Business Administration.
He started his professional career in 1980, when he joined the advisory firm McKinsey & Co, working both in Italy and abroad, where he reorganized and relaunched banking, insurance and service companies. In 1992, he became the Co-Managing Director of the Olivetti Group and in 1996 he headed Banco Ambroveneto. He was called to join Poste Italiane as CEO in 1998. He then returned to banking in 2002 as Managing Director and CEO of IntesaBci, the banking group resulting from the merger of Banca Intesa and Banca Commerciale Italiana. In 2006, he assisted in the merger between Banca Intesa and San Paolo IMI, which created Intesa Sanpaolo, of which he later became the Managing Director and CEO. In November 2011, he was invited to join the cabinet of the Monti Government as Minister of Economic Development, Infrastructures and Transport. At the end of the parliamentary term in 2013, he ended his term in office. From June 2015, he dedicated himself to a Milan relaunch project aimed at making Milan one of the most dynamic metropolitan European cities, albeit choosing to refrain from running in the administrative elections. In 2006, the Italian President of the Republic awarded him the Knight of Industry medal, an honorary award for industry leaders. He is a member of various advisory boards, including the McKinsey Advisory Council and has been a Board Member of various listed companies (including Finmeccanica and Crédit Agricole in Paris), and non-profit institutions (Bocconi University, Scuola Normale Superiore di Pisa, La Scala Foundation, Cini Foundation, International Business Council of the World Economic Forum in Geneva, Wharton School, and International Institute of Finance in Washington). In 2010, he set up the Encyclomedia Publishers with Umberto Eco, which is an editorial project that aims to produce the first high-quality multimedia “Storia della Civiltà Europea” [History of European Civilisation].

Corrado Passera has recently been the key Sponsor of SPAXS SpA, of which he is Executive Chairman. SPAXS is the biggest spac ( special purpose acquisition company)  in Italy and one of the largest in Europe by funds raised. The € 600 million  SPAXS raised  will be invested in the creation of a highly innovative bank specialized in serving small and medium sized entreprises (SME’s), in purchasing and collecting NPL’s and in providing  a full digital banking platform to households and businesses.

Thomas Clay

Thomas Clay is a Professor at the Sorbonne Law School (Paris 1 University) where he teaches arbitration and international dispute settlement. He worked for a long time at the University of Versailles, where he founded and directed the LL.M. in “International Arbitration and Business Law” in collaboration with the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC). Thomas Clay is also a lawyer (Paris Bar) and he manages the firm Clay Arbitration Office.

Over the years, Professor Clay acted in over 70 international arbitrations, mainly as arbitrator under the auspices of virtually all major arbitration institutions: ICC, ICSID, and UNCITRAL Rules, and in different jurisdictions. Thomas’s areas of expertise include energy and natural resources (oil, gas, mining and solar energy), pharmaceuticals, telecommunications, international sales, services, real estate and construction. He also actes as counsel on many of the largest international disputes submitted to arbitration.

He is a member of many associations (such as: Institute of International ArbitrationInternational Association of American Judicial Law; Association of Private International Law; etc..). He has authored numerous publications on issues of investment and commercial arbitration and is frequently invited to speak at arbitration conferences. Stéphanie Fougou

Stéphanie Fougou holds degrees in European Law (DEA from Université Paris II Assas, 1997) and Media Law and Management (DESS from Université Paris-Sorbonne, 1998). She passed the Bar Exam (Certificat d’Aptitude à la Profession d’Avocat or CAPA) in Paris in 2002.

She spent 13 years with the France Télécom/Orange group, notably as Deputy Group Legal Counsel in charge of international affairs. In 2011, she joined Club Méditerranée,  where she held the positions of General Counsel, Legal Director and was responsible for the Health and Safety Department as well as public affairs and real estate contracts. In 2014, she joined Vallourec as Group General Counsel and member of Vallourec’s Executive Committee.
In May 2018, she joins AccorHotels as Group General Counsel and as a member of the Group Executive Committee. She oversees the following functions, including Board secretary, Group Legal Affairs, Risks & Insurance and Compliance.

Jérôme Frantz is a graduate of the University of Paris II in Intellectual Property and of the Executive MBA of HEC Paris. Admitted to the Paris Bar in 1985, he worked as a lawyer before becoming CEO of Frantz Electrolyse, the family-run company engaged in the metal surface treatment industry that was founded in 1919 by Joseph Frantz, a former military aviator who was the first pilot to down an enemy aircraft in aerial combat during World War I. Established in the Paris region, it was one of the oldest and most renowned independent subcontractors in metal surface treatment in France. It was ceded to Galvanoplast in May 2017. In addition to these activities, Jérôme Frantz has held several mandates in employer federations, notably as president of the Medef des Hauts-de-Seine and president of the Fédération des industries mécaniques (FIM). He has also been a member of the bureaus of the Conseil national de l’industrie (CNI) and vice-president and treasurer of the Groupe des fédérations industrielles (GFI). He has also served on the board of HEC Paris and the Ecole nationale des arts et métiers (ENSAM). He now chairs the Medef commission on competitiveness, innovation and attractiveness (CIA). An elected member of the Paris Chamber of Commerce, he serves as vice-president in charge of the advisory mission and representation of industry.

Antonio Corda

Antonio Corda has been Legal Affairs Director of Vodafone Italy since May 2017 and is a member of the Board of Directors, the Executive Committee and the company’s 231 Supervisory Body (Organismo di Vigilanza).

He joined Vodafone Italy in 2009, taking roles of increasing responsibility until he became head of the Legal Department in 2012.

From 2000 to 2009 he was General Counsel of the Tiscali Group and a member of the Board of Directors of Tiscali Italy and Tiscali UK.

He owns a law degree from the University of Cagliari, and has been a qualified lawyer since 2002; in 2005 he obtained a Master of Business Administration at SDA Bocconi (Milan).

Sandra Mori

Ria Thomas is the Global Co-Lead for Brunswick’s Cybersecurity offer. She has deep expertise in private and public sector cybersecurity strategies and policies, including advising senior government leaders, Board members and C-Suite executives on enterprise-wide crisis preparedness, incident response and corporate resilience strategies in the face of significant cyber-attacks.

She joined Brunswick from Washington-based management consultancy, Obsidian Analysis, Inc., where she was Principal and Senior Director for Cybersecurity. In this role, she led the firm’s cyber practice, which advised senior government and corporate leaders on the development and execution of cyber-focused resiliency strategies. Prior to Obsidian, she was the Managing Director of Occid-Orient Strategies, which advised private sector companies expanding within the cybersecurity markets in the Middle East and Asia. Previously, Ria was Director, Cybersecurity and Counterterrorism, for Global Strategies Group, where she headed the practice advising select Middle East and Asian governments on critical national security issues.

Ria began her career with the U.S. Federal government, where she specialized in security, foreign policy, and counterterrorism. After leaving government service, she worked for Fabiani & Company, where she advised private sector companies on U.S. Federal government market entry. Specifically, she established the firm’s advisory capabilities on promoting advanced cybersecurity technologies in the defence and security market. Ria is an attorney licensed by the State Bar of New York, with a J.D. from Georgetown University Law Centre and an undergraduate degree in Political Science and International Relations from American University.
